Steel Fixer

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our construction team. This role involves setting and fixing the steel bars and mesh used to reinforce concrete structures.

Job Description

Responsibilities include reading and interpreting working plans and steel lists for the job; setting out the work from these instructions; cutting and bending bars or mesh; tying rebar together with wire, clips or welds to build up sections; fixing the wooden formwork and shuttering used to hold setting concrete in place; and installing beams and pre-cast slabs.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid apprenticeship in steel fixing or relevant field. They should also have proven experience as a steel fixer, proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
