Overview
- Deliver curriculum-aligned Physics lessons and hands-on demonstrations.
- Design and mark assessments; track and report student progress.
- Maintain safe laboratory procedures and supervise experiments.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning and student support.
- Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree is a must
2 consecutive years of school teaching experience
Qualifications
- Degree: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Physics, Science (with a Physics specialism), or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Degrees from distance learning or open universities are typically not accepted for certain regional boards.
- Teaching Certification: A recognized professional teaching qualification or license, such as a PGCE, PGDE, QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), B.Ed, or equivalent state/national teaching license.
- Experience and Skills
- Teaching Experience: Usually a minimum of 2 to 4 years of secondary or high school physics teaching experience, depending on the school's curriculum framework.
- Curriculum Familiarity: Experience or strong knowledge in relevant frameworks such as the British Curriculum (IGCSE, KS4/KS5, AS/A-Level), International Baccalaureate (MYP/DP), or CBSE.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, ICT/digital literacy proficiency, and a collaborative, inquiry-based approach to teaching.
